“Semi-Precious Tones” is The Zen Engines‘ fourth release and first four-song EP. It is a musical departure from past releases in that it takes a more cinematic approach to song structure, tone and execution. The diversity of musical influences is also wider, spanning from Balkan folk music to modern rock.
As with his past releases, songwriter Gregg Kirk has received these melodies and lyrics from a source outside himself. Call it channeled music or divine inspiration, but each of these tunes is aimed to heal and/or awaken a place within you to facilitate your own spiritual growth.
This album was produced by Gregg Kirk and mixed and mastered by Billy Gewin at Cave Cricket Studios in Atlanta, GA.
